SPRAY FOAM INSULATION
PROVIDING LONGEVITY & PERFORMANCE

Good quality Spray foam insulation is a great product. Buildings insulated with it can be some of the most efficient and comfortable built. Since spray foam is both insulation and air/vapor barrier, proper alignment of insulation and air/vapour barrier is guaranteed.
Magnus Insulation and Fireproofing prides ourselves on our vast experience applying spray foam insulation on projects ranging from garages to multi billion dollar expansions.

Together we have over 45 years of spraying experience and hundreds of happy customers. We have undergone training with all the major spray foam suppliers to ensure that we know exactly how what to look for, and how to approach each unique project.

Closed-cell polyurethane spray foam has some pretty awesome qualities. It has a high R-value. It’s resistant to water, mold and insects. It expands into hard-to-reach nooks and crannies and Its the product that brings you the MOST efficiency per sq inch.

HOW IT’S MADE
-
Spray Polyurethane foam is manufactured using a two-component chemical system.
-
A&B in two 55 gallon drums
-
Chemical Reaction A + B = Heat (exothermic)
-
Heat + Blowing Agent = Gas expansion
-
Closed Cell has refrigerant gas
-
Open Cell has carbon dioxide gas
OUR PRODUCTS ARE CERTIFIED UNDER URETHANE FOAM CONSULTANTS UFC.
-
A Component → Methylene Diphenyl Diisocyanate (MDI) or ISO is a standardized material used for the creation of foam insulating material.
-
The “reactive” component of the foam system (Light brown liquid)
-
B Component → Polyol Blend or Resin – made up of a number of different ingredients, each giving the material its special physical properties
-
Tailor made to perform according to different criteria (i.e. R-value, fire resistance, adhesion etc.)
-
Summer/Winter Grade, Open/Closed Cell Chemical Ingredients – B side
-
Polyols: give the foam its properties and is the receptive component
-
Blowing agent: affects the thermal properties and density of foam
-
Catalyst: is used to control the reactivity and the cure rate of the foam.
-
Surfactants: control and maintains the cell size of the gas bubble within the foam and the surface finish of the manufactured product
-
Flame retardant: reduces the flammability of foam
SUSTAINABILITY

From awareness & education to recycled content, life cycle assessments, environmental certifications and processes optimization we, at Magnus, believe we can do more and better everyday.
GLOBAL WARMING POTENTIAL (GWP)
“Greenhouse gases (GHGs) warm the Earth by absorbing energy and slowing the rate at which the energy escapes to space; they act like a blanket insulating the Earth. Gases differ from each other are their ability to absorb energy
• The Global Warming Potential (GWP) was developed to allow comparisons of the global warming impacts of different gases.
• GWP is measure of how much energy the emissions of 1 ton of a gas will absorb over a given period of time, relative to the emissions of 1 ton of carbon dioxide (CO2).
The larger the GWP, the more that a given gas warms the Earth compared to CO2 over that time period. The time period usually used for GWPs is 100 years. ”
